JOB OPENINGS

Remediation Engineer

Altamont has an immediate opening for a project-level Engineer with technical training and experience in soil and groundwater remediation system design, operation and maintenance.  Must enjoy direct client interaction and creative problem solving.  Project management, mentoring, and technical writing skills are very important.  The position will entail a combination of office and field work. 

North Carolina Professional Engineering registration is required.

The position requires excellent communication skills, technical proficiency, and technical writing abilities.  Experience working for a consulting firm is advantageous.  Creativity, leadership, and a strong work ethic are required.  The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment.  A proficiency in CAD and related software is also required.  The successful candidate must have experience developing detailed plans and specifications, preparing bid packages, and managing contractors in the field.

Water Resources Engineer

Altamont has an immediate opening for a project-level Engineer with technical training and experience in watershed planning, natural channel and constructed wetland engineering and design, fluvial geomorphology, and construction management.  Altamont’s project mix includes watershed analyses, streambank stabilization, stream restoration, wetland delineation and mitigation, dam assessment and removal, innovative stormwater treatment, low impact development (LID), and best management practices (BMPs). 

At a minimum, the candidate must be an E.I.T. on a P.E. track.  Experience working for a consulting firm is advantageous.  Training and demonstrated work experience in natural channel design and construction and hydraulic modeling is preferred.
