The French Broad Electric Membership Corporation owns and operates three registered underground storage tanks (USTs). Two of the USTs are used to store vehicle fuel. The third UST is used to store fuel for emergency power generation. Altamont worked with the French Broad Electric Membership Corporation and its subcontractors and suppliers to compile and submit documentation and implement corrective measures to address DENR UST Section requests for information. Services included reprogramming the UST enhanced leak detector to conduct a 0.1 gallon per hour test on the vehicle fuel USTs, creating a log form to document inspections of the containment sumps associated with the USTs, performing hydrostatic leak tests on the UST system sumps, conducting line tightness tests on the double-walled fuel conveyance piping, and reporting information and test results to the DENR.
