Altamont provides professional services related to the economics of solid waste management as well as engineering, hydrogeology, and other specialized services at landfills throughout the southeastern United States. Our experience includes older, closed facilities, as well as active Industrial, Construction and Demolition Debris, and Subtitle D landfills. Altamont actively monitors groundwater, surface water, and landfill gas at 15 privately and publicly owned landfills, and monitors and maintains ten landfill cap systems. Our understanding of the business aspects of solid waste management, along with our technical expertise, allows us to reduce our client's costs related to the management of solid waste.

Altamont provides services involving the design and implementation of landfill gas extraction systems for beneficial use. These systems are being utilized to collect and use landfill gas as an energy source. One noteworthy project involves using landfill gas to fuel a regional arts and crafts studio as well as an alternative crops development station and greenhouse (see project summary).
