
Evan Yurkovich
Mr. Yurkovich is an environmental scientist and has worked for Altamont since 2006. He is educated and trained in field biology and environmental management. Mr. Yurkovich has been involved with all aspects of numerous groundwater quality assessment projects including monitoring at open and closed landfills, CERCLA sites, and other industrial sites. He is proficient in the use of traditional and low-flow groundwater sampling techniques. In addition to groundwater monitoring, he has experience in drinking water monitoring, wastewater monitoring, and surface water monitoring. Mr. Yurkovich manages the maintenance and optimization of soil and groundwater remediation systems, including compliance sampling and reporting with state and federal regulatory agencies. He has also been involved in industrial and residential vapor intrusion assessment, which includes installing soil gas probes, collecting air and soil gas samples, and interpreting and reporting analytical data.
Mr. Yurkovich routinely conducts Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments at commercial and industrial sites. He has experience with the use of direct-push technology to gather soil and groundwater samples and the use of various drilling technologies for the installation of permanent monitoring wells. Mr. Yurkovich is familiar with current environmental ASTM standards, as well as state laws and regulations. Mr. Yurkovich has assisted with construction observation and reporting on multiple projects such as solid waste landfill cap construction, sediment and erosion control structure installation, and streambank stabilization. His attention to detail and high-level organization enables him to provide accurate and timely summaries of events occurring in the field. His punctual field reports help keep projects on schedule and within budget.
