Katie R. Massie

Katie Massie
Ms. Massie comes to Altamont with a strong background in biostatics, ecology, and entomology, and has considerable experience using aquatic insects to evaluate the health of surface waters. She has participated in numerous aquatic insect surveys of streams in the Piedmont and Mountain regions of North Carolina, and has also completed invasive species surveys of riparian areas for several stream restoration projects while at Altamont. She has performed groundwater and surface water quality monitoring at numerous sites and is experienced in a variety of groundwater sampling techniques. Through her work with regional county landfills, she has become technically knowledgeable about state and local regulations related to solid waste management. She is also responsible for scheduling, executing, and managing the budget for many of Altamont’s recurring projects. Ms. Massie has extensive experience in data entry, tabulation, interpretation, and presentation, is proficient in parametric and nonparametric statistical analysis, and is familiar with a variety of statistical applications software.
