Altamont has been pleased to welcome two new staff members during the past month.
Staff Professional Matthew Fields has experience in environmental consulting and environmental testing, Phase I and II environmental assessments, and as a project manager.
“We’re very excited to welcome Matthew to Altamont,” says Jennifer Verde, Assessment/Remediation manager. “He brings a strong analytical background and assessment capabilities, and he is proving to be a great addition to the Assessment/Remediation group already.”
Matthew is a graduate of UNC Asheville with a B.S. in Environmental Management and Policy and a B.A. in Environmental Economics (with a special focus on the economics of environmental management practices, including the economic valuations of natural resources and the economics and utilization of waste and waste products).
Alex LeSueur, a Technician/Associate Professional, is a recent graduate of Appalachian State. Alex has a Bachelor of Science in Geology with an environmental concentration. He is working in our Compliance and Solid Waste service line, helping with water quality sampling, site inspections, report writing, and other important tasks.
Brian Gant, Altamont’s Compliance/Solid Waste manager, says, “Alex shows a lot of enthusiasm for applying what he’s learned at App State. We also know that Asheville is the perfect spot for Alex to further explore his love of mountain biking and the outdoors.”
